The Rebel Legion Booth

Secondly, the booth. Normally, we have a table in the TK and Fanwars booth. I don't know what this will give in reality, but I count on one table. If you want to see where the booth is situated in the hall, please check the official rebel legion forum where an image of the hall is posted.

This table will normally be manned by Emmanuel (Plecter labs' Erv') and there will be some info folders on it. Also, I hope the french base can bring the beautiful RL banner

If you yourself have a nice piece of a costume or a prop you want to show the visitors, don't hesitate to bring it at our table! If you have a nicely painted helmet and you have two costumes, you can lay it there while trooping in the other costume.

Stijn and I are working on a banner and some plates with info, to put on the table as well. If you have any ideas or stuff yourself, please contact him or me trough mail, msn or the forum!

Also very important is the 'guard duty' on the booth. It is best that we have at least one person standing at it trough the whole convention. Stijn, Megane and I will be there but if any one likes to relieve us for an hour or even half an hour, you're very welcome! It is not only about guarding the stuff, but also about answering people's questions.

If you are guarding the booth and are asked about TK-421, the SW fanclub providing us space, please say the following or something like this:

'Rebel legion benelux was founded by some members of TK-421, and soon other parts of belgium and the netherlands wanted to join the legion. Therefore, Rebel Legion Belgium became Benelux. But still, TK-421 is a good partner and in a way the father of RLB. Also, most flemish members of RLB are active members of TK-421. If you want more explanation about them, please ask someone from TK!'

If people are interested in RLB, tell them that you need a costume to be approve and be at least 18 years. But if they don't have any of these, we can always help. Normally there will be folders where they can put their email on. I also'd like to put -18's people on the list, just to help. And maybe later they can join us!

TK asked us not to get together before the booth too much, because both booths need to be fully accesible for possible new members. This doesn't mean you're not allowed to be there, on the contrary! Being in the area of the booth is good for attracting new members. But blocking the site is not. I hope everyone gets this, else I sent the imperial army after you! ;-)

I also want everyone to remember that we're a club who makes costumes and troops for fun, but we also have some professionalism. Please act like this, but I think this rule is no problem anyway. Also I don't appreciate that members won't be in costume. Offcourse you don't have to be in costume 24/24, but previous year some people didn't go in to their costumes and I will take countermeasures if this is the case again.

The location

Please, don't forget! FACTS is not at the ICC anymore, but at the Expo! If you go by car, the Expo is easier to reach, but if you take the train, you'll have to take a tram.

You can find the address and a picture of the main building here:

http://www.facts.be/fa_map_flanders_expo.html

Do mind that parking costs 5 euro a day, and there are not much possibilities around. What you can do is park at a park&ride zone from De Lijn (bus/tram/metro company) and take the tram. The number you have to take is 1, see that Flanders Expo is on the signs otherwise you'll be at the wrong place ;-) The Expo is the last stop, so you don't have to ring.

The dressing room

The dressing room will be in hall 7. There will be lockers available as well, but if you have a lock to lock down your own stuff, that might be handier. Normally, we'll have some papers with our logo hanging on the walls, but we'll have to see if that's possible at the new location.

The rules

Please, this is very important! The FACTS crew is making us aware of the possible sanctions that can be taken against weapons. Read following message carefully and ask if you're weapon is legal or not as soon as possible when you get there!

The text is still only in dutch, but will be translated on the FACTS forum.

www.facts.be

POUR LES REGLES SUR LES ARMES(car oui on peut plus prendre des armes dangeureuses etc etc), et ben on va traduire ça en anglais mais il faut attendre un peu ^^

The RLB Crew

As you might've noticed, RLB Has a new CO. Me! I'm Sofie, and most of you probably know me. I will be wairing my Imperial Knight and a Kimono at FACTS. I know, this is not really Rebel, but My Rebel costumes are in maintenance. And FACTS is about the only convention where the costumes that I'll were will be seen.

If you're french speaking, I'll have to excuse me for my bad French. I understands almost everything but talking is hard. So have some patience... And otherwise, you can always contact my french speaking State Captain Mégane for more info!

If you're interesting in doing something for the club, don't hesitate to contact me. I have some functions to declare after FACTS!

The Food

No FACTS without food for me! It is a good habit from some of our members to go eat a pita or something after the first day. If you're interested to go with us, just contact me and I'll try to stay in touch so we can all go together. I only don't know yet if there is some restaurant in the area. But we'll send some scout troopers ;-)

OK... this was a lot, I hope I didn't forget anything! If you have any questions at all, you know where to find us!

Sofie

Les règles sur les armes (bon courage les mecs pour tout lire et comprendre) :

By participating in FACTS 2009, to be held on October 17th and 18th 2009 in Flanders Expo, Ghent, Belgium (hereinafter: “FACTS 2009â€), you hereby automatically and unconditionally undertake to abide by the following rules (hereinafter: “the Rulesâ€):

1. Legislation. You undertake to uphold the applicable legislation (national and local) at any given time. Should any contradiction exist between the present Rules and any applicable legislation, the latter will always have precedence.

2. Instructions. Should you receive any instruction and/or request by any public authority representative (policeman, fireman, etc.), by any representative and/or guardian of Flanders Expo and/or by any crew member of FACTS 2009 in relation to the weapon(s) you carry, you will immediately comply therewith.

3. Categories. Weapons are divided in three categories:

1. Real firearms (even unloaded), fire weapons (e.g. flame throwers), weapons created for military use, jack knives, flick knives, knives used for throwing, firearms which resemble another object than a weapon (e.g. a firearm hidden in a walking stick), electro shock weapons, knuckledusters, non historical sword sticks, self defense sprays, nunchakus and silencers are hereinafter called: “the Forbidden Weaponsâ€.

2. Objects which are clearly meant to be toys for children up to 14 years of age (e.g. a plastic fake gun in bright orange); objects which bear no similarity with real weapons whatsoever (e.g. a light saber from Star Wars, a phaser from Star Trek); swords which are not mentioned in section 3.1. are hereinafter referred to as “the Authorized Weaponsâ€.

3. Replica weapons which are no Forbidden Weapons, but which cannot be considered to be an Authorized Weapon (e.g. a firearm which has been disabled and which resembles the weapons used in Stargate) can only be used on stage (e.g. as part of the cos’ play competition) or in a closed section of the fan village. They are hereinafter referred to as “the Stage Weaponsâ€.

4. Should you have any doubt as to the category your weapon belongs to, please mention this as the cashier’s till where you will be sent to the competent person to help you out. Until this person has told you to which category your weapon belongs, you cannot remove it from its closed package. The FACTS forum will contain pictures of certain weapons and the categories to which they belong.

4. Use. Different rules apply to each category of weapons:

1. It is strictly forbidden to bring any Forbidden Weapon to FACTS 2009 and/or to use it and/or to expose it. Forbidden Weapons will be seized.

2. Authorized Weapons can be carried around inside the Flanders Expo premises. It is however forbidden to carry Authorized Weapons outside the Flanders Expo premises. During your transportation to and from the Flanders Expo premises you always have to carry the Authorized Weapons in a closed package (e.g. a sealed sports bag). It is also strictly forbidden to use the Authorized Weapons in a threatening, menacing or otherwise dangerous way inside or outside Flanders Expo’s premises. Authorized Weapons which have been abandoned will be seized.

3. Stage Weapons can be used on stage as well as in a booth inside the fan village provided this booth is not accessible to the public. You cannot carry them around on FACTS 2009 however. During your transportation to and from the Flanders Expo premises you always have to carry the Stage Weapons in a closed package (e.g. a sealed sports bag). When you are not on stage or in a booth in the fan village the Stage Weapons have to be put in a place where they cannot be seen nor accessed by the public. It is also strictly forbidden to use the Stage Weapons in a threatening, menacing or otherwise dangerous way inside or outside Flanders Expo’s premises. Stage Weapons which have been abandoned will be seized.

5. Measures. FACTS 2009 reserves itself the right to take any and all measures which would be required to guarantee the public safety, including but not limited to seizing any weapons which would be used in violation of the present Rules.
